    FREE Pre-Kindergarten Program

    Meck Pre-K is a FREE high-quality program open to all four-year-old children in Mecklenburg County at no cost to families. To apply for this FREE program, your child must be four years old on or before August 31 of the school year you wish to enroll them and be a current resident of Mecklenburg County.

    Classrooms are staffed with two teachers and have no more than 18 children. Class instruction is for 6.5 hours per day, and we follow the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School calendar. Classroom centers and activities are intentionally designed for optimum learning based on detailed studies specified by the Meck Pre-K administration. For parents who need additional support, we offer daily before-care and after-care.
